Principal’s Message

Dear Parents and Carers

Welcome to Bees Creek Primary School.  I am extremely proud to be the principal of a school that has a long history of providing quality education and which is strongly supported by the local community.

Bees Creek Primary School is enthusiastically determined to improving student learning outcomes and providing teaching approaches that meet the needs of all students; not just in words but in our actions.

Learning is our Core Business

Bees Creek Primary School is committed to delivering on its core business of ‘learning’ and celebrates the achievement gains to date.  It is a place committed to building the necessary knowledge and competencies for students to thrive and succeed in learning and life.

School Purpose

Bees Creek Primary School’s educative purpose is to:

  • Offer meaningful learning experiences
  • Develop growth mind-sets
  • Support each learner

Our goal for each learner is to create curious individuals who think and relate well to others.

The school’s learning philosophy rests on the Bees’ Keys to Learning principles:

  • Questioning
  • being Reflective
  • Collaborating
  • Taking Risks
  • being Self Aware
  • being Resilient
  • and being Inquisitive.

The focus on developing learners’ capacity to thrive in tricky situations – knowing what to do when they don’t know what to do – is valued highly.  Teachers explicitly teach learners strategies to get out of ‘I’m stuck’ situations.  It is our aim that being stuck is celebrated and harnessed as an opportunity to build each individual’s learning capacity.

Making Learning Visible

We pride ourselves in making learning visible.  Learning progressions are displayed in ‘learner friendly’ language to help our learners know how am I going?, where am I going?, and where to next?  By making learning and progress visible we empower both our learners and their parents.

We look forward to sharing your child’s learning journey and welcome your involvement and contribution to our school community.
